The city of Barcelona has seen a substantial increase in the number of electric scooters recently. One of the issues created by this proliferation is its impact on the mobility of the city as a whole (user types, occasions for scooter use, safety issues, etc.) and what the optimal upper quota in terms of number of users would be. The answer to these questions will allow for better regulation and planning for this new mode of mobility.

CENIT is currently working to analyze and characterize current electric patrol users and their patterns of mobility, as well as to evaluate the possible long-term effects on the mobility of the city of Barcelona in particular and the AMB in general.
