This project aims at developing a homogeneous analysis methodology of the economic and social impacts of the transport system, understood as the whole made up of infrastructure, transport activities carried out, and the policies related. This project is based on input-output charts with regional disaggregation and they include the different transport modalities.
Overview of the costs functions of the following means of transportation: railway, road, air transport and shipping. Identification of their frontier functions, of efficient company sizes and economies of scale. Contribution to the knowledge and classification of the structure of Spanish transportation sector businesses. Deep analysis of the efficiency level in this service sub-sector.
