The Pioneers project stands for Portable Innovation Open Network for Efficiency and Emissions Reductions Solutions. It is an ambitious, innovative project that aims to analyse and reinvent all aspects of port operations, such as terminal operations, concession agreements, mobility, connectivity, fuels, models for cooperation and production, storage and use of energy. The ports of Barcelona, Antwerp, Costanta and Venlo will implement green port innovation demonstrations across four main pillars: clean energy production and supply, sustainable port design, modal shift and flows optimization and digital transformation. Cenit is involved in working on the Master Plan of Energy Transition for the Port of Barcelona, as well as impact assessment and process evaluation in order to quantify net benefits and transferability of the innovation and pilot conducted.
