ENTROPIA. Efficient design and operation of individual public transport services in urban areas
Client: Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad
Dates: 2013-2015
This research project wanted to analyze Individual Public Transport, mainly taxi. We developed different articles about taxi operations resulting in optimizing fleet size without penalizing benefits.
Apart from that area, we also develop a model to evaluate carsharing systems. We determine the optimal demand range in order to deploy a taxi service, flexible bus lines or the common bus lines.
The last part of the Project was focused on new individual mobility services such as carsharing. In this field, we highlight differences between carsharing types: round trip, one-way and free-floating.
Finally, we developed a theoretical model to compute the optimal fleet size for a carsharing service depending on the environment conditions and restrictions.
